PREFACE

The background to write this book goes back to the past as the author of this book was undergraduate student at a German university. He confronted already at that time with the hypothesis of Malthusianism and Neo-Malthusianism. Consequently, he has writ- ten his M. A. and PhD about this hypothesis. Fact is, the Neo-Malthusians still argue that „population explo- sion“ („population bomb“) in the Third World Countries for example in the African countries for instance in Ethiopia „is the cause of pover- ty and environmental crisis.“ But this hypothesis is not supported by scientific evidence. However, despite lack of evidence of this hypothesis, the „western“ World (governments, organizations and institutions) puts the govern- ments in the Third World Countries under pressure to introduce and implement the so-called family planning, i. e. birth control in these countries allegedly to solve poverty. In addition, the majority of the Mass Media in the „western“ World publicized this hypothesis and influenced the opinion of the public to believe in this hypothesis. But the fact that the author of this book lives in Germany and in Ethiopia that he observes and conducts empirical studies in both countries concerning political, economic, social, ecological and cul- tural developments of both countries, that poverty and environmental crisis in the African countries for example in Ethiopia are not caused by „population explosion“ („population bomb“). According to Mari etta Slomka, „Ethiopia alone could feed easily the whole continent of Africa and even could produce bread for the world.“1 Accordingly, the author of this book has found out that the condi- tions for example for economic developments are far better in Ethiopia, Nigeria, Democratic Republic Congo (DRC), Angola, etc. than KIROS ABESELOM in Germany and/or in Japan. But Ethiopia, Nigeria, DRC, Angola are „poor“ and Germany and Japan are „rich“. Therefore, poverty and environmental crisis in these countries are caused rather by Internal and External („Endogenous“ & Exogenous“ Factors. Consequently, the author of this book asks himself: Why is Europe „rich“ and Africa is „poor“? Why and How are Germany and Japan „rich“ and Ethiopia, Nigeria, Democratic Republic Congo (DRC), Angola, etc. „poor“? How does Poverty Arise? As „God’s Punishment“? And How Wealth is Created? As God’s Blessing? But Africa is not Poor. Africa is very Rich. However, the question is, „Why the wealth of Africa does not make Africans wealthy?“2 „Who benefits from the immense richness (wealth) of the African continent?“ Who helps Whom: Does Europe help Africa or Africa helps Europe unwilling? Wealth and Surplus on the shoulder of the poor people: „Blood cransfusion from sick to healthy?“ The author of this book has started to write the manuscript fthis book before 11 years in German language. But unfortunately, me translation from German to English was not conducted by a native speaker.

Who helps Whom: Does Europe help Africa or Africa helps Europe unwilling?: “Blood transfusion from sick to healthy”?
